What better library than the Stephen A. Schwarzman New York Public Library. If you're a huge fan of Sex and the City then you already know this is the Library Carrie and Big failed wedding took place. The Stephen A. Schwarzman New York Public Library is the second largest library in the United States and the fourth largest library in the World. The New York Library was built from 1897-to 1911 designed by Carrère and Hastings.

John Merven Carrère and Thomas Hastings studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in France. They rose to national prominence in 1897 by winning the competition for the New York Public Library. The library is built in a grandiose Beaux-Arts architecture (neoclassical style of Greek and Roman forms) made out of white marble and cost $9 million to build. The entrance of the library is supported by columns between three massive Roman arch openings. The library contains 88 miles of shelving and holds over seven million books.

Located on the third floor is the mural Carrie from Sex in the City speaks of while returning her book The Story of the Recorded Word by Edward Laning. According to the librarian New York Public Library is a tourist attraction. People come all over the world just to take pictures in this space including myself lol. If you're visiting New York or just need something to do, New York Library is the perfect place to visit. There is so much history, art and culture in this historic library.
