How did you prepare for a career in styling?

I've always been into fashion, especially of different eras. So I think it's been a lifelong preparation and not even knowing it. I fell into styling, as a career, so to prepare for my first job I just googled a stylist kit.

How do you prepare yourself when styling someone for a shoot?

Each shoot is different but I look at a mood board and see what the style is for this particular shoot. I try and make a mental list of the types of items I want. Then, I start looking online at designers and showrooms to see which designers have what I'm looking for and email then requests for my shoot or client. Once I have all the clothes I put together outfits to be shot or shown. Usually the night before I make sure I have everything I need in my kit and I'm ready for my shoot.

How important is fashion week to you?

Its super important I actually get a lot of inspiration from fashion shows for my editorials. It's also a great time to network and meet new people in the industry.

Who is your favorite all time fashion designer?

Right now, I adore Christian Siriano. He designs for the woman I am in my head lol.

How do you describe your signature style? What are your three favorite pieces in your closet right now? I would say trendy with a mix of vintage and classic. My tan mink, my turtlenecks and my high waisted jeans. I think my current uniform is a turtleneck and high waisted jeans. I'm literally in that everyday.

Where are your go-to places to shop? I love thrift shops. They are my absolute favorite places to shop because you really won't see anyone else wearing what you have and depending where the thrift shop is you can get some great deals. I'm also like most women my age that love Zara and ASOS. I'm also always in H&M, grabbing, basics or a great trendy piece for a great price.

What are some beauty products you can't live without? A great eye brown pencil, eyeliner and mascara. Of course shea butter, for the fro.

Any Fashion tips you would like to share?
